Castello Basilio is set in a prestigious and central location. This lovely and unique property is located only a 3 minute walk from the Piazzetta (main square) and the centre of Capri. Fantastic panoramic views over the entire town, the Gulf of Naples and part of the Bay of Marina Piccola (with the top of the typical Faraglione) can be enjoyed from its gardens. The property boasts flowering gardens, 4 large terraces and some relaxing spots with a fountain and outdoor sofas.

You can enter Castello Basilio from a convenient roadside entrance that leads to the main gate and through a luxurious garden with tall pine trees, lemon trees, cypress trees & bouganvilleas. You can also access the home through a pedestrian shortcut that allows you to reach the Piazzetta in only 3 minutes.

From the main garden, only 10 steps take you up to the main terrace where there is a wonderful pool (14 mt x 5 mt). From there you can see buildings of the villa and the entire layout of the property. It is here that you can enjoy the Italian style garden with flowers, the jasmines growing up on the columns and the walls, white roses and oleander trees.

The villa came into its current owner’s family in the early 20th century and its elegance and exclusivity makes it one of the most desirable properties on the island of Capri. Cool marble and hand-made tiles on the floors, vaulted ceilings, antique furniture, white draperies and hand made stucco give the interiors of the villa a timeless feel and an incomparable charm. Castello Basilio is a typical Caprese style property with the white rooms, vaulted ceilings, pergolas with white columns and plant climbers to spend a relaxing afternoon or to have al fresco dinners.

Layout Details-

The villa is made of 1 main house and 1 annex.

From the ground, 10 steps will lead you to the pool terrace, where there is a dining area with a round table suitable for 8 people. The pool area is equpped with stylish sunbeds. The main entrance door leads into a well lit living area with a double white sofà bed and tv sat. 2 French doors lead out onto the pool terrace. On a side, a large and elegant double bedroom with an en suite bathroom (marble, large mirrors and jacuzzi bath tub). Opposite you will find a study where a double sofa bed could be arranged, providing a double bedroom (in the winter season this area can be arranged also as a dining room). From one of the bathrooms you have access to a laundry room, where a washing machine, sink, ironing area and a small kitchen can be found.

Next door there is the main kitchen, decorated in a rustic style. The well equipped kitchen, built with white tiles, boasts professional tools and facilities: refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, 6 range stovetop, oven, 2 sinks. The kitchen has a window and a door leading out to a path that goes around the house. Next to the kitchen there is also an annex with a single bed and en suite bathroom (with a shower). Go down a few more short steps and you will find a staff bedroom (available on request).

STAFF DETAILS. The caretaker and the gardener live close to the house. Cook is available on request. Final cleaning is included in the rental rate. 3 hours of daily housekeeping service included in the rental rate.
