This luxurious villa lies at the heart of a small wine estate in the stunning surroundings of the Chianti region in Tuscany. The idyllic and peaceful location near Greve in Chianti allows you to relax and experience total tranquillity as you enjoy birdsong and watch goats lazily climbing the rolling hills that stretch towards the Apuan Alps. Despite its wonderful rural location, La Castellina also offers easy access to the cities of Florence and Siena.

Perched within a glorious region of hill towns and vineyards, this impossibly pretty ancient farmhouse is surrounded by olive groves, oak woods and cypress trees and offers views of distant towns. The farmhouse itself has been restored in a traditional Tuscan style with authentic features maintained throughout the property, such as the terracotta tiled floors and wood beamed ceilings, the vaulted hall, arched doors, traditional bread oven (for decoration only), shuttered windows and the old hay barn - which is today used as the sitting room. With a total of six cosy bedrooms furnished with a number of statement antique pieces and spread across three levels, Le Castellina is the perfect villa for your relaxing Tuscan holiday. The large kitchen is rustic in style yet features all the mod cons needed to whip up an Italian feast to enjoy in front of the roaring fire - or for more formal occasions, the dining room seats up to 12 guests. The villa also affords a spacious sitting room with a grand piano and a working fireplace with access to a covered terrace and its magnificent views across the valley. Of our portfolio of villas in Tuscany with private pools, La Castellina's is particularly generous. We recommend getting in some decent lengths and building up an appetite before indulging in an alfresco breakfast of freshly ground coffee and tasty local produce under the shade of one of the loggias with the gorgeous views of the Tuscan hills in the background. The loggias also provide the perfect spot for a sundowner as evening falls, before enjoying a meal under the inky-black starry sky.

-Villas are normally rented on a Saturday to Saturday basis throughout the year -Please note that the standard check-in time is between 4-7pm and that we ask guests to vacate the property by 10am on departure day, unless otherwise agreed in advance. -One balcony and the courtyard are not fully childproofed; young children need to be supervised. -The estate manager and her family live in an independent apartment on the lower ground floor the villa. The apartment has an independent entrance. -The road to the villa (750 meters) is unpaved and bumpy and therefore not suitable for low slung cars. -Extras are payable locally in cash euro only. Checks and credit cards are not accepted. -A deposit is due on arrival in cash euro for the payment of extras charged "per consumption". -Extras are subject to availability at the time of confirmation.
