Posillipo
Beautiful, 5 bedroom fully staffed villa, on the sea in the most exclusive area of Naples.
Seacoast-Amalfi Coast/Campagna Villa 10
Villa Posillipo lies framed by the beautiful hill of Posillipo, in one of the loveliest and most sought-after areas in the city of Naples. The luxurious hidden villas, the paths down to the sea, the cliffs dropping sheer down into the water below, the elegant buildings, and the breathtaking view all make it a must for sightseers and a dream for the inhabitants of the city. Posillipo is undoubtedly the best-known hill in Naples and the most famous for its beauty; its ancient name alone explains all of its charm: Pausilypon means "rest from your worries".
The villa, from the beginning of the last century, has maintained most of the antique furnishings and decorations, and has integrated them well with all the comforts of modern technology. All of the rooms are equipped with air-conditioning, TV with DVD player, safe deposit-box, telephone, small stereo in the bathroom, and the living areas have Hi-Fi, plasma TV with DVD player and Sky satellite.
The large garden is completely enclosed and looks onto the Gulf of Naples, and consists of the swimming-pool area with sunbathing teak terrace, two large panoramic terraces with garden furniture and a relaxation area with gym, sauna, massage room and Bio Bar.
The domestics are always present in the Villa and besides the daily cleaning, also see to the preparation of breakfast, lunch and dinner, with various different menus to be chosen on the premises. Personal use of the kitchen by guests is not possible.

Naples is sometimes given a bad rrap, not only by tourists, but Italains from other parts of the country, as well. Few take the opportunity to really explore and get the feeling of this city. In Naples, Mt. Vesuvius looms to the east, the fumaroles of the Campo Flegrei hiss and steam to the west, and the isle of Capri floats phantomlike across the gleaming waters of the bay. For all the splendor and drama of this natural setting, one of Italy’s most intense urban concoctions is the real show. Naples shoots out so many sensations that it takes a while for visitors to know what’s hit them. Everything seems a bit more intense in Italy’s third-largest city, the capital of the south. Dark brooding lanes open to palm-fringed piazzas. Laundry strewn tenements stand cheek by jowl with grand palaces. Medieval churches and castles rise above the grid of streets laid out by ancient Greeks. No denying it, parts of the city are squalid, yet in its museums are an embarrassment of riches, the setting is beautiful, the food good and reasonably priced, the shopping for quality menswear unsurpassed, and the old city center is a UNESCO world heritage site, as well as the largest historical center in Europe. It seems that most of life here transpires on the streets, so you’ll witness a lot. The pace can be leisurely in that southern way, and amazingly hectic. When you partake—in a meal, in a passegiata, or just in a simple transaction—you’ll notice the warmth, general good nature, and a sense of fun. You get the idea—but you won’t really, until you experience this fascinating, perplexing, and beguiling city for yourself.
For those wanting to go museum hopping, explore the Amalfi Coast, Pompeii, Veusuvius, and eat the world's best pizza, yet still want an urban feel, there is probably no better place to spend some time than in. Naples.

Recommended Local Restaurants
Within 5 minutes of villa
Rosiello Via Santo Strato 10 Tel. 081 769 1288 www.ristoranterosiello.it/index.php A meal on the terrace here is one of the city’s great treats. Everything comes from the waters at your feet or the restaurant’s extensive vegetable plots on the hillside; even the cheese is local. These ingredients find their way into seafood feasts that might include risotto alla pescatora (with seafood) and pezzogna all’acquapazza (fish in a light tomato broth), but even a simple pasta here, such as scialatielli con melanzane e provola (fresh pasta with local cheese and eggplant), is elegant and simply delicious. Moderate prices
Within 10-15 minutes of the villa
Carminuccio a Mergellina Via Mergellina, 14, Tel. 081 660990 A piece of Heaven in front of the sea, out of the mass and traffic, owned by a family who strongly believes in the genuine way to cook the traditional Neapolitan recepies...with a good glass of wine. SImple moderately priced good food.
Chalet Ciro Via Caracciolo Tel. 31 081 669928 www.chaletciro.it/en/index.html Great cafe, good coffee, great pastries and cakes and fantastic ice cream. Also some light food.
La Notizia via Caravaggio 53/59, 80133 Napoli Tel. +390817142155 www.enzococcia.com The first, historic establishment opened by masterchef Enzo Coccia. Despite its location away from the city center, the use of top quality ingredients and a long-established expertise have made Coccia's pizzas famous across the world. A real treat is the pizza bianca – without tomatoes – with scarola salad, aubergines (eggplant) and provola cheese.
Da Doria Via Fernando Palasciano 30 Tel. 081-680519 www.ristorantedora.it/ Despite its location up an unpromising-looking vicolo (alley) off the Riviera di Chiaia, this small restaurant has achieved cult status for its seafood platters. It's remarkable what owner-chef Giovanni can produce in his tiny kitchen. Start with linguine alla Dora, laden with local seafood and fresh tomatoes, and perhaps follow up with grilled pezzogna (blue-spotted bream). Like many restaurants on the seafront, Dora has its own guitarist on busy nights, who is often robustly accompanied by the kitchen staff.
Brandi Salita S.Anna di Palazzo, 1- 2 (angolo via Chiaia)Tel +39081416928 www.brandi.it/inglese/index3.html This is one of the most picturesque restaurants in The city. Set on a cobblestone alleyway just off chic Via Chiaia, it welcomes you with an enchanting wood-beam salon festooned with 19th-century memorabilia, saint shrines, gilded mirrors, and bouquets of flowers, beyond which you can see the kitchen and the pizzaioli (pizza makers) at work. Although pizzas have apparently been around in one form or another since Ancient Roman times, Raffaele Esposito is credited with creating the Margherita. He worked at this very pizzeria (established in 1780) and in 1889 he was asked to bake 3 different kinds of pizza for the royal visit of King Umberto I and Queen Margherita of Savoy. The Queen’s favorite was a pizza that had the colors of the Italian flag: basil leaves for green, mozzarella for white, and tomatoes for red. Named Pizza Margherita in her honor, this is how this pizza is still universally known . Brandi is one of the more elegant and atmopsheric pizzerias and offer many traditional Napoletano side dishes as well. While Italians tend to drink beer with pizza, they offer some nice Falanghina white wines and Aglianico based reds here as well.
Other ares of the city
Sud via Santi Pietro e Paolo 8, 80010 Quarto +390810202708 www.sudristorante.it This Michelin One Star establishment is a good oprtion when you want a great meal and don't want to go into the center of town, as this restaurant is about 30 minutes away in the other direction. The delicious cuisine served in this restaurant is one of the most interesting in the province of Naples. The name is a good indication of the style of cuisine, which focuses on the specialities of southern Italy. Very reasonable prices for food of this quality.
Hotel Romeo via Cristoforo Colombo 45, 80133 Napoli Tel. 390810175001 www.romeohotel.it/naples/ The beautiful contemporary interiors of this hotel complement its two fantastic reastaurants. One, Romeo Sushi Bar & Restaurant, is by far the best Japanese restaurant in Naples and the atmosphere is really "cool" and hip. The other, Il Comandante, has earned one Michelin star, and serves a creative Italian cuisine.
Palazzo Patrucci Piazza san Domenico Maggiore, 4 Tel. 081-5524068 www.palazzopetrucci.it/eng/ristorante.html#ristorante This Michelin One Star restaurant just moved to a new location, directly, right on the beach in Posillipo. Fortify yourself with a complimentary glass of prosecco before agonizing between the à la carte offerings and the menu degustazione (€60). A popular starter is mille-feuille of local mozzarella with raw prawns and vegetable sauce. The paccheri all'impiedi (large tube pasta served standing on end) in a rich ricotta-and-meat sauce is an interesting twist on an old regional favorite. The interior is elegantly minimal; the culinary delights are anything but.
Taverna Estia via Guido De Ruggiero 108, 80031 BRUSCIANO Tel. +390815199633 www.tavernaestia.it This Two Star Michelin restaurant is an oasis of rustic elegance with a fireplace and exposed beams. It is renowned for its fine gastronomic cuisine and skilful use of local ingredients. A range of carefully prepared fish and meat dishes are on the menu. It is about 25 minutes away from the historic enter of Naples in Brusciano, but is well worth the trip. Probably the best food in the Naples metropolitan area, and though expensive, is quite reasonable for a two Michelin star establishment.
Sorbillo via Tribunali 38, 80138 Napoli Tel. +390810331009 www.sorbillo.eu With a number of different branches, this is one of the most famous pizzerias in Naples. This new addition is slightly more comfortable in style than some of the older, more spartan pizzerias.
Da Michele Via Sersale, 13 Tel +390815539204 www.damichele.net/index.php?lang=uk Let’s start with what some people may consider the inconveniences- the restaurant is rustic to say the least (almost spartan and very much “no frills”), no reservations are accepted, you always have to wait in line (we had 40 people before us!!) and they serve only 2 kinds of pizza. Nothing but the pizza margherita and pizza marinara here, using only fiordilatte cow´s milk and sweet , tantalizing San Marzano tomatoes. So why do we recommend this place? Because this is the best pizza in Naples in our opinion!!! Since 1870 the Condurros have been making pizzas for their hungry patrons, from tourists, to local Napoletani to VIPs (they are particularly proud they had the famous soccer player Maradona as an approving diner!)
Gran Caffè Gambrinus Via Chiaia 1/2, Naples Tel. 081-417582 http://grancaffegambrinus.com/ The most famous coffeehouse in town is the Caffè Gambrinus, catercorner to the Palazzo Reale across the Piazza Trieste e Trento. Founded in 1850, this 19th-century jewel functioned as a brilliant intellectual salon in its heyday. Some say it has rested on its laurels and caters too much to tourists. However, the renovation and reopening of some of its long-closed inside rooms, replete with amazing mirrored walls and gilded ceilings, makes it an essential stop for any visitor to the city. Have a coffee and a chocolate or a pastry, and soak up the grandeur and the history. I had a really great cup of espresso there last ssummer.
And if you are going to Pompeii, there are two restaurants worth trying. They are only two blocks from each other.
President piazza Schettini 12/13, 80045 POMPEI Tel. +390818507245 www.ristorantepresident.it This elegant One Star Michelin restaurant located on a quiet piazza only a short distance from the Santuario proposes some fine specialities that draw their inspiration from the daily arrival of fresh fish. Reasonable prices for the quality.
Il Principe Piazza B. Longo 8, Pompei Tel. 081-8505566; 081-8633342 www.ilprincipe.com This is the closest you'll get to experiencing the tastes of ancient Pompeii. Il Principe's owner, Marco Carli, and his wife, Pina, have spent decades researching ancient Roman cuisine and can boast of having fed, if not Roman emperors, at least three U.S. presidents. Try the pasta vermiculata garo, otherwise known as spaghetti with garum pompeianum, a fish-based sauce consumed widely in Roman times. Round off the meal with the cassata di Oplontis (a sweet made with ricotta cheese and honey), inspired by a still-life fresco found in a triclinium at the site of Oplontis. The restaurant occasionally arranges banquets at the surrounding archaelogical sites, complete with music played on ancient Roman instruments. The events are worth attending both for the food and the chance to commune with the locals. If the restaurant's grandiose interior overwhelms you, opt for the more informal outdoor dining area.
