Casa Valle

Beautiful 4 bedroom/7 bath, meticulously restored renaissance house in a small town in the Italian Alps with fantastic indoor pool. Great all-season destination! From $4,500 per week

Italian Alps Villa 12

This villa was recently restored by an Italian architect whose family has owned the house for centuries. The restoration is a sight to behold, combining local 16th century authenticity, includling original frescoes and antiques, with 21st century comforts.

The hiking in the area is wonerful. The Dolomites are arguably the most dramatic part of the Alps. World class sking is available within 15 minutes, and the elegant ski resort of Cortina is about the same distance, but here all is peace and quiet, with all the advantages of a non touristy Italian alpine town. For those interested in food, there are eight Michelin starred restaurants within an hour and a half of the house, two within 10 kms! All this, and only an hour and a half from Venice.

Sports and activities in the area include cycling, fishing, fly fishing, hiking, ice skating, mountain biking, mountain climbing, paragliding, skiing, swimming, golf and tennis. Fitness area and equipment is by the pool in the house.

Great all season villa.

A beautiful villa in Valle di Cadore! Plenty of room for the eight of us. About 30 minutes from Cortina d’Ampezzo. Valle di Cadore has a large market and we were able to get everything we needed to cook our meals in a well-equipped kitchen. The pool is fantastic, the views incredible!

Simply Amazing

5/5Stayed Aug 2018

Wonderful house in the heart of the Dolomites. Could not have asked for a better base for cycling adventures. The house is ancient and beautifully restored, with all amenities and comfortable places to relax including the amazing pool and relax room downstairs. Bedrooms were comfortable, quiet and well equipped as was the kitchen and wonderful dining area that encourages lots of communal time together. Owner is fantastic to deal with, very friendly and helpful and there is also onsite parking which is hugely helpful given the tight, old streets in the area. Would absolutely recommend and would definitely come back again. Thank you!

Beautiful house and town

The house is a piece of history and art! Plenty of room for the 8 of us. We felt like royalty. The town is small and peaceful. It took us a few days to realize how much the town had to offer. Hikes right out of downtown, bike rentals close by, and good restaurants and grocery stores. Cortina is close by if you want more of a tourist feel. Driving to hikes outside of the town was an adventure in itself! Beautiful area!

Spectacular restored gem of the Dolomites!

We rented for a week in early March to celebrate a family birthday. Our group included my wife and me, two longtime family friends, our youngest daughter and her fiancé.

While the pictures and description of the property were very nice, the reality could not be beat. Paola was easy and accommodating during all of our pre-planning and even sent us photos/videos to get us excited as our travel date neared. She was flexible and made sure we knew everything about the area and its offerings.

We arrived in Venice and the villa within a quick 1.5 hour-trip via autostrada. Upon arrival, Paola, Stefano and Mama Carla graciously welcomed us to their beautiful family home, which has been meticulously restored and preserved. It is grand, magnificent and welcoming and, while historically accurate, has been brought up to modern-day standards in every respect. There are frescoes, period furniture as well as beautiful views.

In addition to the beautiful home and great scenery, it would be shortsighted to not mention the spectacular indoor pool, activity and exercise area on the lower level. The area is hard to describe. First class and tastefully done are not enough and the pictures don't quite show the scope of what awaits. After a day or skiing or hiking, relaxation and luxury beckons.

Last but not least, Paola and family enlist the very welcomed services of Maria, a lovely local gal who knows everything about the area and its history as well as making sure that the house is in order. She prepared a spectacular breakfast of crepes for us one day and even left us homemade grappa to try on our last night.

If every home rental were done this well and the owners were as welcoming, we'd never stay in a hotel again! Thank you for an unforgettable time!

We spent a week in February and loved every minute of it. Paola and Stefano were very welcoming and helpful hosts, and Maria was the dream housekeeper!

The house itself is very beautiful and has been lovingly restored. It comfortably fit our group of seven, and was very clean and well maintained, with Maria visiting daily. We especially loved the pool and recreation area, as well as the breathtaking views.

The house is perfectly located for a ski holiday in the Dolomite region, although it is a 30 minute drive to the main resort of Cortina. There are nice shops and restaurants locally so we didn't find this to be a problem.

A big thank you to Paola, Stefano and Maria! We will definitely be back!

Amazing property and great reception!

If you are going to see and ski the Dolomites, this house is one of the best places you can stay in the region. The attention to detail that has gone into renovating it is simply amazing.

The house is very spacious and pretty well located within range of nice local restaurants and shops.

The hosts are very nice and smiling people, who love their guests and prepared for us very kind surprises, which I will keep a secret ;)

Strongly encourage you to visit the place :))

Just amazing! Best vacation home ever!

  •  5 of 5

Amazing!!! There are no other words to describe our stay.

First of all I would like to thank Paola and her family for the hospitality they have shown us. From the moment we had arrived they made us feel really welcomed and were always there to help and advise and even participate. Took us along on a family hike and a bicycle ride. The HOUSE!!! Don’t get me started on the house, I can talk about it for ever, but sufficent to say that even our “I don’t care about anything, I’m too cool to be impressed” teenager kids were very impressed and said that it was the best house they had ever seen. It is an old family mansion, recently painstakingly restored by Paola (who is an architect) herself. The house combines in the most tasteful way rustic old country chic and and modern amenities. The views from the balconies leave one breathless. And out the back gate, just few steps down the hill there is a great little wine bar with very friendly owner-sommelier and a great selection of wines to lift your spirits.

Dolomites are just stunning. Pieve di Cadore valley has some stunning views and is just a short drive to even more stunning destinations. It has the advantage of being well located charming little village and away from all the tourist crowds. At the same time you can ride a bicycle all the way to Cortina, which is a major tourist destination. On the way you will constantly keep being surprise but jaw dropping views. There are numerous hikes and bike rides can be done from the house. Can’t wait to check it out during winter time, sure it is will be even more wonderful if it is even possible.

Our friends already booked this house for their vacation inspired by our stories and pics. So, to sum up - the best vacation house ever!!! We can’t be more grateful to our hosts.. Enjoy your stay, you will not regret it.

Unique Renaissance look & feel

  •  5 of 5

5 amazing days spent in a spectacular residence, blessed with superb September weather.

Paola, Stefano and Maria made up a warm host-team, resourcefull and merry.

Every step in the house was a delightfull surprise - traditional wooden floors, walls painted with scenes and motives of Renaissance, furniture assorted and suitable-fashioned... even the tableware and bedding are assorted!!!! Plus all the possible modern comfort, well and discreet integrated in the traditional "landscape".

The only regret is that we had rather little time to explore and discover the mansion in detail, since we took advantage of four days with terrific weather - sunshine and 18-25 C between 7:00 - 17:00 - to tour challenging Ferratas in surroundings.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your hospitality and I do hope to come back, this time with my familiy.
