Florence Apartments Apartment 4

Located in the heart of Florence, surrounded by the Santa Croce church and Signoria Square, an elegant top roof apartment will give you the chance to have a view of the whole city. The flat is inside a historical building, which was the home to the embassy of the Duchy of Milan in the 15th century. It is situated on the 4th floor, up 86 steps(without elevator), but this is an insignificant sacrifice compared with the 360°view on Florence that you will be able to admire.

The property has undergone a recent renovation to further enhance its endless beauty and traditional 15th century features. This new look has refreshed both the downstairs and upstairs making the apartment even cozier and more comfortable for guests to enjoy. The original red terracotta floors now shine white and some of the antique furniture has been remodeled to achieve a more modern and stylish approach.

The property develops on two levels, on the first floor you can find the double bedroom with bathroom and the master bedroom with his bathroom en suite, these two rooms are very bright and have all the facilities you need. A charming staircase leads you to the second floor, a unique and fascinating area that consist of a lounge, a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. Nine windows, that are spread all around the walls, illuminate the whole room and offer a breath taking view with two panoramic terraces, furnished for outdoors meals. All the materials used for the construction are unique and ancient: the pavements are made of Florentine terracotta and the ceilings of wooden beams. The apartment is exceptionally convenient for anyone looking to see most of Florence's sights in a short while; easily, without car, bus or taxi. You can enjoy this wonderful city, all is within a 10 minute walk . This is a prime location for sightseeing and entertaining, the area is vibrant but very safe and has plenty of shops , restaurants and theatres all very close.

The Santa Croce neighbourhood provides a rare glimpse of “old” Florence with lively markets and tiny leather and artisan workshops, including the flea market (Mercato delle Pulci) at Piazza dei Ciompi. The Mercato St. Ambrogio, the city’s second main food market after the Mercato San Lorenzo, is within close walking distance too. Furthermore, the area is just a stone’s throw from some of the city’s main cultural attractions such as the Bargello Palace, which houses one of Italy’s most important museums, the Casa Buonarroti, (the former home of Michelangelo), Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio and Ponte Vecchio, not forgetting the magnificent Santa Croce church and museum. You will also enjoy the largest selection of boutique shops, bars and typical restaurants and pizzerias within the city. Three of the finest and most expensive restaurants, Cibreo, Pinchiorri and Alle Murate are located nearby. There is also a good choice of mid-priced options. By night, Santa Croce becomes one of the liveliest parts of town and with its pedestrianised streets and illuminated buildings it transforms into the perfect venue for an after-dinner glass of wine or evening stroll. For those choosing an apartment in this area Santa Croce offers several food stores, supermarkets, laundrettes and individual gift shops as well as being adequately served by the local public transport service.

The apartment is absolutely quite, up here there are only birds singing and tower bells, a really magical place!!

Great time in Florence

My family of four stayed at this condo for 4 nights over a weekend which held a festival in Florence. The apartment was very nice with two beds, two bathrooms. The AC worked really well which was a relief as the temperature in Florence reached the mid 90's. The steps up are a work out but worth it once you reach the top floor and the two terraces. The location is central and easy to walk to all of historic Florence. Our host Donatella went out of her way to secure tickets for a local sporting event. Thank you for all your efforts!

Wonderful!!

My friends and I stayed at this wonderful apartment while in Florence visiting the city. The views are amazing and the ringing of the bells is magical! We felt very much at home here, and enjoyed our stay immensely. If given the chance we would do it again. The steps are really no problem if you are a walker. The location in the city is perfect, close to everything yet private and so comfortable. A small super market is around the corner. We will always remember our stay here, very special and fond memories:)

Perfection!

Put it this way, I welled up and just about cried when Mariano took us to the top floor; the 360 degree view of Florence is breathtaking! It was everything and more than I could've imagined. Top the bottom this is a fabulous apartment. From our initial dealings with Donatella to our final goodbye with Mariano, it was absolute perfection! I will never stay anywhere else, and I will plan my next trip to Florence around availability of this apartment.

WOW - YOU MUST STAY HERE!!

Apartment is beautiful and so close to all the attractions. All amenities are provided for you. Mariano who welcomes you is wonderful and so very helpful. 100 steps up to the apartment can be a challenge if you aren't prepared for it, but after 463 up to the Duomo, it's nothing! Apartment is on the 4th and 5th Floor. When you come into the door, you have two bedrooms (one with a Queen and the other with two twins) and 2 full bathrooms (one bathroom is in the room with the queen bed) with a washer. Up a few more stairs to the main living area with the terraces and the living/kitchen/dining area. It's beautiful. Everything was so close to the property and everything is walkable. Donatella and her husband were wonderful since we have a little bit of a struggle getting there on time and they were so accomodating. Will definitely return and recommend to friends. Also highly recommend checking into the Vespa rental on the next block over from Walkabout Tours. Ask for Angel, he was fantastic.

Particular apartment

We spent 4 fabulous nights at this perfect apartment in the middle of our trip to Italy. We were two couples, and found the apartment breathtaking. Words can not describe the WOW effect you experience when you climb the stairs and enter the living space of this apartment. The views are amazing, and the space is bright, and beautifully decorated. The two balconies are such a treat and the one that literally sits on the rooftop was the best. We sat our there every evening enjoying our wine and listening to the beautiful church bells of Florence. Really a magical experience. Mariano who met us and settled us in was a true pleasure. He made us feel so welcome and touched base with us throughout our stay, assuring all was going well. He even booked our taxi for us on the very sad morning that we had to leave this gem. We booked apartments everywhere we stayed for our 12 day trip, but all agree we hit the jackpot with this one. A true shining 5 star!!!!! We hope to be back someday... and will definitely stay here. Thank you again for making our experience so memorable
